Almira Labs presents the Voice Cast product suite at CTIA
It's fun, fast and easy to use.
April 1, 2009 - Las Vegas, CTIA Wireless 2009 - Almira Labs Voice Cast suite allows customers to send voice messages to predefined set of groups. Part of the attraction is that it allows users to convey more emotion and feelings in their messaging than regular SMS, adding a personal touch to each message they send. This is particularly important to the youth market, which represents the majority of SMS users. Thirty seconds of a spoken message can accomplish the same as five minutes of a text message. To say it fast and simple, it represents bringing the RSS feeds concept to the voice communications.
By dialing the Voice Cast service number, user can just leave a voice message that will be immediately distributed to her pre-defined group by generating the required phone calls, ensuring fast communication with all of them, adding the extra emotions that voice brings over raw text. Besides, user is given several menu options to manage its settings (create a new feed, manage his subscriptions…)
The service is complemented with an attractive Flash widget that allows using the service from any standard web browser or PC desktop. This makes Voice Cast use very flexible as users can handle it from either the PC or the mobile phone at their convenience.
Voice Cast comes in different flavours that adapt to the telecom operator needs at configuration time. This is a basic feature of Almira Labs products. We take the “program once, run everywhere” paradigm further that anyone before. Just with a single programming effort, at building stage system can be configured for different business models. An example of this can be the corporate model:
John is a CEO who holds a weekly revision meeting every Friday. He usually sends a briefing by email but today is a Thursday night and he has been flying all day in a business trip. He realizes he needs to send the briefing but he does not have his PC with him. He could type the message in his mobile phone and send it by SMS or e-mail, but writing in a small keyboard is awkward and he is not sure he has all the team numbers or emails in his device. By calling Voice Cast, he just records the briefing and the service broadcasts it to his board members immediately.
